9 Cares Colorado Shares
Food Drive & Bell Ringing
for the Salvation Army

In November, as Thanksgiving approaches, Christ’s Church participates in one of the two annual 9 Cares Colorado Shares food drives organized by 9 News KUSA, a Denver-metro area television station. Since its beginnings in 1982, 9 Cares has delivered millions of tons of food and millions of dollars to a network of local food banks that has grown to include more than 135 food banks throughout Colorado

Collecting food and toiletries at a local grocery store, our volunteers invite people to purchase items for the Hope and Help Center (formerly the Douglas/Elbert Count Task Force) to help people in our neighborhoods.

In addition to supporting 9 Cares, we also commit two Saturdays during the Christmas season to “ring the bell” for the Salvation Army and their efforts to help families in our community throughout the year.

These outreach activities not only provide a much-needed service to our community, but also have been great fun for our members, because we get to know each other by serving together, and meet many of our neighbors in the process.
