Help & Hope Center

(formerly the Douglas/Elbert County Task Force)

The Help & Hope Center serves the immediate needs of Douglas and Elbert county residents who are in financial distress and/or at risk of becoming homeless, helping them work through troublesome times with dignity.

In 2018, the Center distributed over $1.9 million in assistance, including approximately $1.7 million in food, clothing and household supplies, to more than 18,000 people.

What We Can Do

Christ’s Church was one of the churches that helped organize the Task Force in 1984, and we’ve maintained a close and supportive relationship with them ever since. We host several food drives each year to help them keep their Food Bank well-supplied. We collect clothing and household goods as well. Several of our parishioners volunteer at the Task Force.

One of the goals of the Hope & Help Center is to eliminate hunger in Douglas and Elbert counties. We wholeheartedly support the work they do to achieve this necessary goal.
